OVERVIEW

Portes (gates) is located on a hill above the settlement of Platis Gialos. Access is made up to a point with a paved road and then you have to walk (with caution, as there is no defined path) about 100 meters through fields and parcels.

The monument is essentially a circular tower that comes from the Hellenistic period and took its name from the conserved door - gate which is formed by three large carved granites. The tower has a diameter of 3.5 meters and currently is maintained the gate - door and the base.

The view and the preserved "gate" is impressive and worth the effort to reach the monument.
